The south manchester centre for psychotherapy, based in Heaton Moor, Stockport, Cheshire, was established in 1991 by Carol Lucas. It has become a centre of excellence for psychotherapy, counselling, supervision and training in South Manchester and Stockport. smcp is a dedicated psychotherapy, counselling and accredited training centre with high professional standards based in the heart of the village of Heaton Moor. There is plenty of off road parking. Psychotherapy is available for individuals, children, couples, groups and families. At smcp we offer fully accredited, weekend training in Psychotherapy (15 weekend days per year)for those interested in becoming a psychotherapist or counsellor, leading to UKCP registration. These courses can be attended by those in full time employment and those with family commitments. Training can be undertaken for personal, professional and or career development. You can join these courses at any time of the year. All enquiries will be returned within 24 hours. This newly built, large, light and spacious dedicated psychotherapy centre offers a beautiful, clean environment for psychotherapy and counselling work with individuals, couples, groups, children and families. The south manchester centre for psychotherapy provides a professional environment of the highest standards which matches the quality of professional practice. smcp owns the venue and is not dependant on renting rooms or space from other organisations. The venue is maintained on a daily basis and provides a warm welcome from 9.00am - 9.30pm every day of the week. Psychotherapists and counsellors working at smcp have undergone an average of eight years training within the psychotherapeutic field, beyond their university and professional education. smcp is committed to the maintenance of high professional and ethical standards. Therapists and counsellors who work from the centre all represent “mainstream” approaches in therapy; Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural and Person Centred. Hypnotherapy is also available at the centre.
