She is a fully qualified UKCP registered psychotherapist, trainer of student psychotherapists and supervisor with over twenty two years experience.
In addition to her work at smcp, she also offers the opportunity to undertake longer sessions of psychotherapy or supervision (2-4 hours) in Conwy, North Wales, in an outstanding, countryside location with views of the northern edge of the Snowdonia mountain range and the Conwy Estuary below.

Supervision in North Wales
Supervision is a professional and ethical part of all clinical work. It has many functions, but serves primarily as protection for both client and practitioner. It can be educative in nature, helping the therapist to develop skills and theoretical models of understanding. It can provide mentoring, consultative, restorative and collegial functions.
All learning in supervision is through the relationship between the supervisee and supervisor and mutual outcomes through discussion will always be the focus.
Carol Lucas B.Ed Hons (cantab), TSTA and CTA has broad experience as a supervisor across a wide range of theoretical models and with supervisees with varying levels of experience, since 1997.
She currently runs a UKATA registered training establishment at The south manchester centre for psychotherapy and several supervision groups as well as supervising qualified and trainee practitioners in South Manchester and North Wales.
Carol has worked as an expert witness within the legal system and supervises the management team of several psychotherapy and counselling organisations in the statutory and voluntary sectors across the Manchester and North Wales area. She is Chair of the Training and Standards Committee for The United Kingdom Association for Transactional Analysis.
Supervision can either be on an individual basis or within a group.
